Shaklee recently completed an important project… The Shaklee U.S. Health & Wellness Study.* It focused on the nation’s largest adult demographic group… millennials… those individuals born between 1982 and 1996. Shaklee wanted to know how this group was faring… both physically and emotionally… while dealing with the unprecedented threat posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal was to better understand the challenges and opportunities to improve health and wellness for everyone during this trying time. The results were revealing:

What Is “healthy”?
Shaklee wanted to know how millennials defined “being healthy”. This was their response:

Stress can have a profound impact on your health. Here are just a few ways that stress can affect you:
The digestive organs tend to take the brunt of our stress, which is why it’s often blamed for causing ulcers.
Stomach pain, diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, and other digestive disorders can be the result of stress. The “fight or flight” response, often triggered when the body is under stress, affects the digestive organs by temporarily shutting them down, a nightmare if stress is chronic.

How the pandemic affects sleep cycles…
According to behavioral sleep medicine psychologist Michelle Drerup, PsyD, “Stress impacts every area of our life so, of course, it’s going to impact sleep,” she adds. “And that is even further complicated by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that’s consumed our lives for much of the last few years.”
