I’m healthy, doc, so why am I here?
Have you been blessed with good health? Do you find that you don’t use the services of a doctor very often and likely wouldn’t seek their help unless you were seriously ill? That’s a very common mindset. Why would you go to the doctor when you aren’t sick… especially since you take Shaklee food supplements every day?
In reality, well-care is an important way to stay ahead of diseases and their devastating effects. Many things that can hurt us or seriously affect our health do not present with dramatic symptoms until things are out of hand. Well-care can prevent the escalation of disease that can lead to life-threatening issues.
While you likely don’t need to visit the physician often, there is value in annual, as well as milestone visits as you age. An annual exam can alert your physician to changes in your body and its systems that you may not notice day-to-day. Having a “baseline” of your blood work can help prevent illness and/or enable early intervention if something appears suspicious.
If your health is good, keep it that way by getting a routine physical or specialty screening to head off any problems.
____ Memory and cognitive functioning exams
____ Cancer checks
____ SID and HIV tests
____ Diabetes screenings
Why you should see your health care practitioner yearly…
You may be asking, “I take Shaklee and I’m healthy. So why should I see a doctor unless I’m sick?”
As much as we try to take care of ourselves by eating right, exercising and taking Shaklee, our health and risk factors consistently change over time. Regular checkups can detect these changes and prevent some diseases entirely.
If you haven’t established a relationship with a primary care physician, it is not only highly recommended, it can be a lifesaving decision. Here are three reasons to see your health care practitioner annually for a checkup:
To establish a baseline
Each year, your body changes. Seeing your physician each year provides vital information that can be compared over time. Your baseline is how your body presents in its normal and high-functioning state. Each time you come back and have new tests, those results can be compared to prior tests and changes can be identified easier.
Seeing the same health care provider over time allows them to have a better perspective when reviewing your annual information and can make a big difference in catching potential problems earlier and provide better care.
Seeing a physician annually can educate you about what you can do at that moment to maximize your health. Education is a vital aspect of health care. You can’t change a habit or an aspect of your lifestyle if you are unaware that you should. Your physician is trained to know what to look for and what to do based on the information gathered from your annual exam or specialty screening.
For preventive care
As those of us in Shaklee believe, prevention is key to avoid future illness and suffering. From preventive tests to actions that stop the advancement of potential illness, seeing your physician annually can make all the difference when it comes to avoiding health issues down the line… steps that can translate to better care and faster healing if, and when, the time comes that you need care.
The risks of not seeing a health care professional
“Out of sight, out of mind.”
“What you don’t know can’t hurt you.”
These are two powerful old-school statements that are used to protect our egos from reality. When it comes to health issues, neither statement has any wisdom. In fact, what you don’t pay attention to can cause great harm if left unmanaged.
So… what are the risks when you don’t see a doctor regularly?
When you don’t see a physician, you increase the risks for developing preventable diseases or illnesses, such as…
⇒⇒ High cholesterol
⇒⇒ Heart disease
⇒⇒ Bone density issues
⇒⇒ …and more
Many diseases and organ malfunctions have few or no warning signs and lack of education can prevent the warning signs from being effective. Not seeing the physician can cause permanent damage from preventable issues.
Untreated illnesses, diseases, and injuries can morph into far worse issues such as lost days of work, chronic illness, and permanent disability, as well as a significant reduction in your life span.

Life Shake… for how it makes you feel!
Next to water, your body contains more protein than any other substance. Among protein’s countless functions are the building and maintaining of body tissues and the production of enzymes, blood cells and antibodies. It is also a major part of muscles, skin and hair. And just as you need water every day, you need protein too, because the body maintains virtually no protein reserves.
Perfect protein: complete and balanced
Protein is made up of 22 amino acids, of which only 13 can be produced by the body. The other nine… called the essential amino acids… must be supplied by the diet. For protein to be complete, it must contain all the essential amino acids in balanced proportions for proper growth and maintenance. And Life Shake does just that!

Feel younger… live longer!
Want to slow down the aging process? Your biological age is simply how old you are, while your cellular age can be affected by stress, UV rays, environmental toxins, and even poor diet. Vivix contains key ingredients shown in laboratory studies to activate cellular defenses and neutralize the free radicals that are a part of daily life. Vivix was designed to help keep cells vital and strong, and support eye health.
Powerful anti-aging results
Laboratory studies show that Vivix key ingredients:
⇒⇒ Protect and repair DNA
⇒⇒ Protect eyes and support eye health
⇒⇒ Blunt the inflammatory response of healthy people to an unhealthy meal, which can lead to cellular aging
⇒⇒ Positively impact cellular energy production
Telomeres are protective endcaps that protect chromosomes in cells. As we age, telomeres grow shorter, and extreme shortening is associated with higher health risks. The big idea: Slowing telomere shortening may support longer, healthier lives.
Statistical analysis projects that an 80-year-old Shaklee supplement user would have the same telomere length as a 41-year-old who did not take supplements!
Helpful hints and timely tips…
⇒⇒ Use old socks to do your dusting. First spray with a light solution of Basic H2 (a few drops in a spray bottle filled with water), then put your hand inside and wipe away. Put the sock over a broom handle for those hard-to-reach places.
⇒⇒ Clean diamonds, rubies and sapphires with one cup of water, 1/4 cup of ammonia and a tablespoon of Hand Dish Wash Liquid Concentrate. Lightly scrub with an old toothbrush. Do not use for soft, porous stones like pearls, coral, turquoise, and opal.
⇒⇒ To clean oven racks, barbecue grills, kitchen exhaust-fan grills and other heavily soiled items, place inside a heavy-duty garbage bag filled with water and Dish Washer Automatic Powder Concentrate. Let soak outside for a few hours, then scrub clean with a brush and rinse.
Get the most from your motion! Lighten up your household cleaning routine by turning on some lively music, then bend and stretch as you sweep, wash and clean!
