“I believe it much better to supply all of the nutritional elements necessary, and allow the intelligence of the cell to make its own choice of those it needs. [Just] make sure that the food supplements you use supply all of the natural nutritional elements your body is known to need, then put your trust in Nature to build a stronger, healthier body.”
~ Dr. Forrest C. Shaklee, Sr.
The science behind Me+ology…
Your body is very particular about the nutrition it gets and how it uses it. The closer you can match what you eat and the supplements you take to what your body prefers, the more benefit you’re going to get from your intake.
Shaklee has gone beyond the simple customization that you see in nutrition today where companies simply look at differences and categories such as gender or age to make recommendations. What Shaklee’s Scientific Advisory Board in conjunction with their Research and Development Department did was look at the scientific literature and the basis for the recommendations that were made, as well as why and how they were made. Then they brought in something very important…. the fundamental understanding of a person’s health state, their goals and behaviors… to create the Meology assessment to determine your personal supplementation regimen..
And… as your health needs and goals change, you can take the Meology assessment again to update your supplement regimen. It’s a system that allows personalization to be more accessible and more affordable to more people.
The impact of stress on your immunity
How your body reacts to stress can negatively affect your immunity. You can manage your body’s reaction to stress by:
⇒⇔ Avoiding unhealthy coping habits such as smoking, drinking and eating fatty foods.
⇒⇔ Maintain a nutritious, balanced diet. Stress Relief Complex will help your body adapt
to heightened stress.
⇒⇔ Practice stress management techniques like meditation and deep breathing.
⇒⇔ Exercise to relax your muscles and relieve tension.
⇒⇔ Get 8 hours of sleep every night.
A deep dive into Meology: FAQs
Here are a few of the questions people ask about Meology:
How does Meology work?
1) Answer some questions about your health goals and lifestyle in our simple assessment.
2) Receive your personalized plan in just a few seconds. (Yes, it’s that fast!)
3) Choose your plan (Essentials or Essentials Plus) and receive your personalized supplements in convenient daily-dose packs every 30 days.
What kind of questions does the assessment ask? How long does it take?
The easy and dynamic online assessment will take just a few minutes to complete and asks simple questions about your health goals, activity level, lifestyle, diet (including food allergies and preferences), health concerns, and family health history.
Why do you only ask about certain health conditions?
We focus on health conditions for which we have relevant and science-based nutrition solutions.
Why do you only ask about a few medications?
Currently, there is no broad consensus as to drug-nutrient interactions or drug-induced nutrient depletions, so we have initially chosen to focus on a few well-established ones that again are relevant to our nutrition products.
Will my personal info be shared?
Your personal health information will not be shared with anyone without your written consent and is safeguarded in our IT system.
What’s the difference between the Essentials and Essentials Plus plans?
The Essentials plan focuses on the most important nutrients and products you need to build a strong nutritional foundation and will include a maximum of 8 tablets per day, contained in one supplement pack.
The Essentials Plus plan includes all the vital nutrients and products included in your Essentials plan plus targeted nutrient needs and solutions to help you achieve optimal health and will include a maximum of 16 tablets per day, contained in two supplement packs.
Can I choose what goes in my order?
Each plan is created just for you, but you can also modify exactly what products are in your Essentials Plus order.
The Essentials plan cannot be modified.
What are those other recommended products that wouldn’t fit in the pack?
As part of your Meology plan, you may receive up to three additional personalized product recommendations that will help you achieve your health goals and reach optimal nutrition. These products are not part of the daily-dose packs, because they may not necessarily be intended for daily use, may need to be taken at a certain time of day, may be food products, and/or won’t fit in a supplement pack.
What if I don’t place my order right now? Do I have to take the assessment again?
No. After you complete the assessment, you will be asked to provide your email address so we can send your results. Save that email and follow the link to go right to your recommendation page and place your Meology order at a later date.
Meology: The Future of Health
In this video, you will hear from Roger Barnett, Chairman and CEO of Shaklee; Dr Erin Barrett; members of the Shaklee Scientific Advisory Board, and happy customers telling you why the future of nutrition is Meology: nutrition made personal. Many of your questions will be answered in this video.
HealthPrint vs Meology…
There are 3 important differences between HealthPrint & Meology:
First is the way they deliver personalized nutrition recommendations. HealthPrint used a stratified and tailored approach. It first evaluated you as an individual, then put you into a group based upon a sub-set of your individual needs, such as your age, your sex and your goals, for example. The personalized nutrition was based upon these shared needs and these needs only. The recommendations were very good for every person with these shared characteristics, but not specific or truly personalized for anyone.
Meology delivers nutrition per a precision-based approach. It considers all of the individual things about you as well as how these things come together and interact to make you you.
Second, how the recommendations are delivered. HealthPrint recommends at the product level, while Meology recommends at the nutrient level, a very important distinction.
Third is the recommendation engines. HealthPrint‘s engine was static, meaning it couldn’t be easily updated, while Meology‘s engine is accessible and can be updated with new questions, can request additional input, and even add in new products as they become available. This aspect of Meology is very exciting!
Shaklee and your immune health…
The immune system is one of the most complex systems in the human body. It protects the body like a guardian from harmful influences from the environment and is essential for survival.
There are several ways you can support your immune system:
Follow a healthy diet
⇒⇔ Protein is especially important. Choose lean meats, fish, poultry, nonfat or low-fat dairy.
Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. These contain nutrients your body needs like antioxidants, vitamin C, Vitamin A, and minerals such as zinc and magnesium
⇒⇔ Get plenty of whole grains, beans, and legumes.
⇒⇔ Eat “healthy fats”… omega-3 fatty acids and monounsaturated fats (olive oil, nuts, seeds)
Maintain a healthy weight
Many people diet to lose weight. But losing weight by dieting can often lead to loss of lean muscle, resulting in a slower metabolism, which is why diets fail
The key is losing the right kind of weight… fat… while preserving muscle to help maintain your metabolism. And with a higher metabolism, you’ll burn more calories whether you are active or at rest And as an added benefit, you’ll see a difference in your shape.
Get enough sleep
Lack of sleep can weaken the body’s immune system.
⇒⇔ Go to bed and get up at the same time daily. Turn off electronics an hour before going to bed
⇒⇔ No caffeine at least six hours before bed
⇒⇔ Avoid alcohol.
⇒⇔ Exercise. Your mind relaxes easier when your body is tired
Reduce stress
Stress can suppress your immune system. To manage stress:
⇒⇔ Exercise
⇒⇔ Meditate
⇒⇔ Unplug
⇒⇔ Stay positive
Get plenty of exercise
Exercise provides a boost to immune cells in your body.
⇒⇔ Stay consistent… choose exercises you enjoy and will continue.
⇒⇔ Exercise enough… 2 ½ hours per week and choose exercises to increase your heart rate.
⇒⇔ Lift weights… it helps build lean body mass and supports bone density.
⇒⇔ Start slow and build slow, but make it a habit.
Shaklee makes nutrition simple
While it’s ideal if you follow these suggestions, it’s not always possible. Fortunately, supplementation can help make up for any “misses”.
Nutriferon, a truly superior, immune-building supplement is a patented phyto-nutrient blend shown in laboratory studies to increase interferon at the cellular level.
It’s the only dietary supplement in the United States created by the discoverer of interferon, world-renowned immunologist, Dr. Yasuhiko Kojima.
Triple Defense Boost supports, boosts and defends your immune system by…
⇒⇔ boosting natural killer cell activity 3x
⇒⇔ increasing proliferation of other critical immune cells 5.8X
⇒⇔ providing vitamin C, zinc, vitamin D, plant-based adaptogens, elderberry, and more
Also consider adding:
⇒⇔ Vitalized Immunity
⇒⇔ Defend & Resist
⇒⇔ Immunity Formula 1
Not enough veggies?
How many servings of greens have you had this week? If you’re like most, the answer probably is: not enough. The U.S. Department of Agriculture recommends eating 2-3 cups of vegetables per day (including 1 cup of greens), but most Americans find it tough to meet that goal because they either dislike the taste or aroma or don’t know how to cook/prepare them well.
Organic Greens Booster is a convenient and healthy way for people to increase their intake of nutrient-rich green vegetables.
Organic Greens Booster is:
Convenient… the easiest way to get one cup of raw, organic, nutrient-rich green vegetables in just one scoop.
Nutrition packed…an excellent source of vitamin K, lutein, zeaxanthin and other vitamins and minerals.
Economical… less than $1.00 compared to one cup of organic kale, spinach and broccoli at $2.30.
Versatile… add a scoop to soups, stews, omelettes, pancake batter, sauces, salad dressings, dips, etc.
Apple Ginger Shake
2 scoops Vanilla Life Shake
1 scoop Organic Greens Booster
1 cup beverage of choice
1 green apple chopped
1 tsp grated ginger
juice from 1/2 a lemon
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in blender with ice (as desired). Blend and enjoy!
How to keep your home and family healthy
Here are three steps you can take to keep your family healthy:
Boost your immunity
Make sure you are getting plenty of sleep and eating a healthy diet full of antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables. Avoid sugary drinks and high-fat fast foods. You can also supplement for extra immune support. For example, NutriFeron and Defend & Resist Complex are formulated to support and help maintain your immune health. Vitalized Immunity and Triple Defense Boost give you an on-the-go boost of antioxidants to support your immune system. Optiflora DI adds good bacteria to the gut to support immune health, because at least 70% of our immune system is in our gut.
Wash Up
It’s important to limit contact with folks who are sick, as difficult as that may be. According to the CDC, clean hands are one of the best defenses against disease, so wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds with Get Clean Hand Wash Concentrate or use Get Clean Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer when you’re unable to wash with soap and water.
Clean and Disinfect Your Home
Safeguard your home and your surroundings by cleaning and disinfecting all high-touch surfaces like doorknobs, countertops, railings, etc. with Basic-G+.
Kill those germs, but don’t overdo it!
According to an article in US News, “It’s commonplace today for people to clean their hands with antibacterial or antimicrobial soap, spray their bathrooms and kitchens with sanitizers.
However, a growing body of research is showing that microbes… microscopic organisms such as bacteria, fungi and viruses… and dirt are crucial for our well-being. Research indicates that early exposures to a variety of microbes may help lower the risk of developing conditions like asthma and allergies.”
So clean away, but don’t overdo it!
