“It has been authoritatively demonstrated that, in spite of your ‘three square meals a day’ you may be suffering from malnutrition. The addition of a natural nutritional
supplement will certainly help you overcome your nutritional deficiency weaknesses.”
~ Dr. Forrest C. Shaklee, Sr.
Who needs supplements? Everyone!
Scientific studies have shown that while most people consume enough calories, up to 90 percent of those who don’t take supplements are low in at least one essential nutrient. But getting proper nutrition today is a challenge. Why?
____ Our bodies cannot produce many of the nutrients we need, so they must be found in the food we eat. But if our food is lacking nutrients, then supplementing becomes imperative.
____ Research shows that 80 percent of Americans are not eating enough fruits and vegetables and we’re short of omega-3s, antioxidants, B vitamins and a host of other essential nutrients.
____ The nutrient content of fruits and vegetables has decreased between 6 and 38 percent over the past 50 years.
____ Today, most of us eat more processed than non-processed food. Convenience has become more prized than quality.
____ Our bodies are exposed to more pollutants and oxidative stress than ever before and need optimum nutrition to battle them.
Shaklee can be the insurance policy you are looking for to fill in those nutritional gaps and keep you healthy.
What they don’t teach in medical schools…
Over the years, it has become increasingly clear that diet plays a starring role in preventing and treating certain chronic diseases. And yet, according to a 2015 report in the Journal of Biomedical Education, only 29 percent of U.S. medical schools offer their students the recommended 25 hours of nutrition education.
Since most doctors would receive a failing grade in nutrition, it’s up to you to make sure that your nutritional needs are met. Take Shaklee to be sure!
Why good eating habits are not enough…
One hundred years ago, the quality of our food was superb, and… it was organic! Fruits and vegetables were grown in naturally fertile soil and many people had their own backyard gardens. Everything was fresh because the only way to preserve food was to can it.\
Back then, most foods were unrefined. Only the wealthy could afford white flour and refined sugar. The less affluent had to make do with course flour milled locally between stones. Sweets were made with molasses, brown sugar or maple syrup. Still, everyone wanted white flour and refined sugar.
As the population grew, farmers had to find ways to increase production, so they turned to chemical fertilizers, weed killers and insecticides. People started to care more about how their produce looked rather than how nutritious and safe it was. These chemicals penetrated into the soil contaminating future crops, the lifestock who ate the plants and, of course, the people who served the meat and produce to their families.
In order to transport food from the farms over long distances to the cities, new methods of preservation were developed. Fruits and vegetables were often picked green, then dyed or gassed. Some were covered with wax to make them look fresh and shiny. Many were sprayed with antibiotics.
Animals were given antibiotics, too, and… hormones to fatten them.
Then food manufacturers developed new, faster methods of preserving foods including bottling, canning, dehydration and freezing. Chemicals such as bleach, fungicide, hydrogenators, dyes, emulsifiers, fungicides, stabilizers, antifoamers, preservatives, thickeners and conditioners were added to highly refined food to make it less perishable, look more attractive, replace expensive ingredients and replace the taste that processing destroyed.
Today, more than 2,500 chemical substances are intentionally added to foods to modify flavor, color, stability, texture, or cost. In addition, an estimated 12,000 substances are used in such a way that they may unintentionally enter the food supply. So today’s food is not really food as nature intended anymore. It’s a slick, shiny, cheap substitute with little nutritional value. And that’s why you need to supplement!
Some body basics…
♦♦ The human body is made up of billions of cells that combine to form tissues and organs, 95% of which are comprised of protein.
♦♦ The human body was designed to function totally from our food intake.
♦♦ Every living creature requires essential nutrients found in food. These nutrients are so interdependent that no single one of them can be ignored.
♦♦ The food we consume affects our entire being… our physical body, our ability to think and reason, our feeling of well being… everything we are.
♦♦ The same force that created the human body also made the plants that nourish it with all their mysteries.
Why chemistry cannot duplicate nature…
No chemist can synthesize all vitamins, minerals, enzymes and other essential food components that our body requires because:
♦♦ Natural plants have many unknown values essential for balance and function that are yet to be discovered and named, let alone be duplicated.
♦♦ No “extra amount” of one factor… vitamin, mineral, protein, fat, carbohydrate or enzyme… can make up for a deficient amount of another.
Which supplement is for you?
When it comes to supplements, you have lots of choices. Which do you prefer?
Chemical (imitation)… the end product of a chemist’s test tube, synthetic vitamins are made from coal tar and are inorganic. It may “nudge” a sick or lazy cell, but it cannot feed it.
Crystalline (altered)… from natural sources, but has been isolated and heated, destroying enzymes and nutrients. Many natural food values are removed, making this type of supplement cheap and with a long shelf life… something that says a lot in itself.
Shaklee food supplements… natural, concentrated food with water and fiber removed. Processed with low heat, all nutrients, enzymes and food values are preserved without additives, chemicals, fillers or other unnecessary chemicals. While naturally stabilized, Shaklee supplements can spoil… because they’re food!
Remember…
Chemical vitamins do things TO the body.
Shaklee supplements do things FOR the body!
Drilling down on key supplements…
Here are a few key supplements you should consider taking:
Energizing Soy Protein / Life Shake
Since 95% of the body is comprise of protein you need to make sure you’re getting enough. Ideally you want a complete protein supplement containing enzymes, a wealth of nutrients and unknown food values to build and repair cells, furnish energy and build true health. Both Energizing Soy Protein and Life Shake are ideal.
Vita-Lea / Vitalizer
A complete, balanced, food-sourced multi feeds the cells that protein is building by providing a wealth of nutrients to activate cellular functions. Vita-Lea and Vitalizer contain all essential vitamins and minerals in balance along with their accompanying unknown food values.
Vita-D3 – New formula!
80% of Americans are deficient in vitamin D, a nutrient which aids in calcium absorption, helps support healthy heart and immune function, and facilitates healthy cell development. Newly reformulated Vita-D3 now releases 2000 IU of high-potency vitamin D3 into the bloodstream!
NutriFeron
Nothing boosts your cellular immunity like interferon… a key protein in your protection arsenal. And NutriFeron has been shown in clinical studies to naturally boost your body’s production of interferon. It should be a part of your daily supplement regimen.
Vivix
No one wants to age faster than necessary. While you can use YOUTH Skin Care to erase years from your appearance, reversal of the aging process can only occur at the cellular level. That’s why Vivix is so important. Backed by six patents, Vivix is a scientific breakthrough designed to help protect and repair DNA and slow the aging process at the cellular level. While YOUTH helps you look younger, Vivix helps your cells actually become younger!
It’s tonic time!
Sometimes our cells need a “boost” for renewed vitality and sustained energy. Early spring greens, herbs, berries and fruits are often combined into a tonic as they add vitamin C, vitamin A, and minerals to the diet.
Dr. Shaklee’s first product… Vitalized Minerals… was a liquid supplement combining a variety of botanicals designed to enter the bloodstream quickly and flood the cells with vitalizing nutrients.
Today, Vitalized Minerals is available as Liqui-Lea, a multivitamin/multimineral supplement that is easy for children and those who cannot swallow tablets to take. And… it’s a great tonic for anyone who needs a quick, natural energy boost. Try it!

New! Get Clean Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer…
We all know that washing hands at key times is one of the most important steps you can take to avoid getting sick or spreading germs.
There are important differences between washing hands with soap and water and cleaning them with hand sanitizer. Alcohol-based hand sanitizers don’t kill all types of germs and also may not remove harmful chemicals and heavy metals.
Handwashing reduces the amounts of all types of germs, pesticides, and metals on hands.
Knowing when to clean your hands and which method to use will give you the best chance of preventing sickness. (See chart below.)
New Get Clean Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer kills 99.99% of germs while being kind to your skin. This fragrance-free, alcohol-based gel formulated with plant-based moisturizers, kills germs and bacteria and sanitizes your hands without drying them out. No rinsing or drying with towels needed. Safe for the whole family
How to use Get Clean Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer
With 65% alcohol content, Get Clean Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer is easy to use:
1) Apply. Put enough product on hands to cover all surfaces.
2) Rub hands together, until hands feel dry. This should take around 20 seconds.
Do not rinse or wipe off the hand sanitizer before it’s dry; it may not work as well against germs.
Supervise young children when they use hand sanitizer to prevent swallowing alcohol, especially in schools and childcare facilities.
